The flag is vertically divided in three fields green-yellow-green, the middle one being square and bearing a juniper tree from the coat of arms.

When the community adopted the new coat of arms, they did not want to reject the traditional symbols of the town of Lovrenc. Therefore the historical coat of arms of was preserved and a banner to go with it was adopted. Those symbols are used in Lovrence together with the community symbols in many occasions.

It is derived from the medieval seal fo the town, the grill being attribute of St. Lawrence, the namesake of the town. The banner (prapor, as called in the Decision) is red with the coat of arms of the town in the middle set in a cartouche. Along the upper and lower edge there is a floral ornament, and on a yellow stripe in the middle of the flag is inscribed in red the full name of the town. While discussing the adoption of the new symbols, in the final phase, some proposals were made public. A variation of the flag that was not adopted was in Slovenian cross pattern, and the rejected coat of arms contained the grille above the elements that are adopted. One of the proposed flags of the time was actually the current adopted flag.

The coat of arms pictures on a silver background a green mountain and on blue stonly base standing a peasant women holding a lamp in dexter and in a back-basket a fish proper. The flag is of a pattern that might be called a Slovenian Crutch Cross (in reference to similar pattern named the Slovenian cross proper). Whatever the name, the flag is horizontaly triband green-white-green with a green square field throughout covering the entire middle part. In the middle square is the attribute from the coat of arms, the peasant women with lamp and fish.
The story behind the symbols is this. It was a custom that serf girls from Luce bring fresh fish from Savinja river over the mountains to Ljubljana nobility. They would cross mountains to reach Ljubljana in time for Friday, it would take 12 hours to walk and they would carry the live fish in wooden backpacks (called brenta) and would be equipped with a lamp or torch. The mountain pictured is the coat of arms is Raduha.

Luče is community formed in 1995 from parts of the community Mozirje, and in 1998 from it seceded community of Solčava. It is situated in region of Savinjska. In 1994 regulations introducing the new communities it seems that the name of the community was anticipated Luče ob Savinji, referring to the river that named the region. It seems that the community did not take that attribute in the official name.

The flag used before 1995 was simple white flag with coat of arms in the middle only slightly different in the artwork.

In 1980 Maribor was organized into six communities, together forming the Civic Assembly of Communities (special supra-communal territorial unit). Legally, each community could have adopted coat of arms and flag, and it seems that indeed some of them did so, at least regarding coat of arms. In 1995 communities of Pesnica, Ruse were excluded from the civic assembly and now form entirely separate communities, white Pobrezje, Rotovž, Tabor and Tezno united into community of Maribor. Since 1998 Maribor have status of a civic community.

According to an article in Tednik: "the members of the assembly of the Markovci community held on Thursday, 2nd December [1999], on the 1st regular session of the assembly" discussed the coat of arms and the flag of the community. "The assembly members were a bit surprised, when they found out that the Markovci symbols - the coat of arms and the flag - do not fulfil the requirements of heraldry. That is obviously not of much of their concern, since they decided to retain the both symbols in the same shape as they were adopted" is stated further in the article. At this point it is not known if the article refers to the same design as presented here.
The coat of arms is Azure, a lion passant Or over a fesswise corn ear of the same over a kurent mask Or with face Argent and tongued Gules. The nine beans in the corn ear represent the nine villages of the community and the lion refers to St. Mark, the patron of the community. The kurent is, of course, a part of the local folklore. The flag is blue withe lion and the corn ear from the coat of arms near the hoist.
