The FAME is a site devoted to the systematic and scientific study of flags and coats of arms. Such symbols often bear strong political and other messages. Inclusion of those symbols here does not mean that the author supports or approves of the ideas they may stand for.

Brda means literally "hills", and from coat of arms it is obvious that they are agriculturally rich especially in vine production. The rime in the scroll is by the poet Alojz Gradnik (1882-1967): "Oh sweet land: stone, grain and juice / oh, sacred land, that gave me birth." The man and woman are in the traditional folk costumes of the region. The flag is blue and green bicolour with the coat of arms in the middle.

The Decision of 2000 does not change the flag, and the coat of arms only slightly differently artistically render then in 1996 (when it was slimmer and taller).

The coat of arms of Brežice is based on the civic coat of arms granted by king Maximilian in 1501: Sable, a pile inverted enarched, in base of a triple mount vert in base azure wavy. Beside the coat of arms the community also has registered and copyrighted emblem showing the water tower, which is also shown on the flag. The flag is basically on the white field, but colour variations of the field are also permitted. Also, the inscription need not to be shown in the flag.

Design: Valt Jurečič, Heraldika d.o.o

The coat of arms of Cankova is per pale azure and argent, in the first a daffodil (narcissus) flower argent seeded or and in the base overall two barrulets wavy counter-changed. The flag is five-striped blue and with a blue square at hoist containing the flower and two wavy lines from the coat of arms. For vertical hoisting the emblems in the flag are rotated so that they still stand upright.
The two wavy lines represent the stream Kučnica, that represented the border between Austria and Hungary for thousands of years, and the river of Lendava that now forms the artificial lake for the power plants. The Kučnica valley was site of numerous daffodil blossoms, nowadays quite rare due to irrigation.
For the short duration of its existence 1995-1998 the community of Cankova-Tišina have not adopted any symbols.

The proposal from 2007 proposes similar coat of arms as previously, but with the grain loaf in the green part and in the blue part a red "mathematical curve". The curve is explained as follows: "The proposed mathematical curve is of simple shape, and as a more abstract symbol [then the mill wheel] it would symbolize both the contemporary and the future. It symbolizes: lightning filament in a bulb, standing for connection of the Cerklje region with electricity, from the relatively early electrification of the community to the education in the Electro-economic school in Cerkno, heating spiral in heating plate [like on electrical stove/oven], being for half a century the main product of the people of the community in the Cerklje industry, that meant at one moment the move from poverty into prosperity, development and higher quality of life, in a more abstract way represents mill wheel, turbine and cog wheel, imaginary track of particle parts movement, symbolizing direction of Cerklje people towards industry and development, mathematical curve in itself symbolize the immense mathematical (dr. Močnik, Pagon, Raspet, Hvala [probably known mathematicians from Cerklje]), technical and computing knowlege being studied and used by previous and current generations of Cerklje intellectuals, finally, the curve in its playfulness symbolize also the character of the people of Cerklje." The proposed flag is a simple tricolour of longitudinal stripes of green-blue-red.

The current community of Cerkvenjak, while it still was a local community (krajevna skupnost, subdivision of a community) within the community of Lenart, adopted a coat of arms and a flag. Unfortunately, the Decision does not have their description. As Cerkvenjak became a separate community, it most probably retained the same symbols, now described and pictured in the official gazette.
The coat of arms is divided diagonally, lower part light blue with St. Anthony Church and surrounding buildings, the upper part is green with an apple and a grape. Above the shield is a red rectangular panel inscribed with the name of the place.
The flag, vertical only, is light blue with the coat of arms in the middle. Although it is not prescribed, it is noted in use in ratio 2:5, as well.
